Signs and tests
  • Abnormal breath sounds revealed by a physical examination with a stethoscope
  • Chest x-ray
  • Chest CT scan
  • CBC with differential
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Thoracentesis if pleural effusion is present
  • Rarely, difficult to diagnose cases may require lung biopsy
