Treatment

Certain medicines can help reduce pain and the rate of attacks. Medicines may include:

  • Anti-epilepsy drugs
  • Migraine medicines (sumatriptan)
  • Tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline, nortriptyline, or carbamazepine
