Results, part 2
High numbers of red blood cells may indicate:
- Low oxygen tension in the blood.
- Congenital heart disease.
- Cor pulmonale.
- Pulmonary fibrosis.
- Polycythemia vera.
- Dehydration (such as from severe diarrhea).
- Renal (kidney) disease with high erythropoietin production.
